‘Mere Mortals’: Apple Expands ‘Mythic Quest’ With Spin-Off Series

Apple TV+ has announced a spin-off to the critically acclaimed (and utterly hilarious) ‘Mythic Quest’, with a new eight-episode series Mere Mortals. Side note – if you’re a Sky customer, check out the bottom of the article for how to get six months of Apple TV+ for free!

‘Mere Mortals’ will explore the lives of employees, players and fans who are impacted by the game. The new extension series takes a page out of the acclaimed departure episodes of “Mythic Quest,” including the upcoming episode “Sarian,” set to make its global debut on Apple TV+ this Friday; last year’s “Everlight,” the special episode that earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Narrator for Anthony Hopkins; season one’s “A Dark Quiet Death”; “Backstory!” from “Mythic Quest” season two; and, the widely celebrated standalone episode, “Mythic Quest: Quarantine.”

The new series is written by Ashly Burch who stars as “Rachel” on the main show, and is also a staff writer for the comedy, alongside fellow main series writers John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney.

Currently in its third season, ‘Mythic Quest’ is a global hit sitcom from creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz that follows team behind the biggest multiplayer video game of all time. But in a workplace focused on building worlds, moulding heroes, and creating legends, the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game… they happen in the office. If you haven’t caught it yet, we really urge you to watch, as it is one of the best comedies on tv right now.

The new series will be produced for Apple TV+ by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft. Megan Ganz, Rob McElhenney, David Hornsby, Charlie Day, Nick Frenkel, Michael Rotenberg, Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin will serve as executive producers.

Mythic Quest‘ Season 3 is currently airing on Apple TV+. There is no premiere date for ‘Mere Mortals‘ yet, but if you want to keep track of these or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
