‘American Auto’: Comedy From Creator of ‘Superstore’ Land December UK Premiere Date On Sky Comedy

Sky Comedy has set a December UK premiere date for American Auto, a workplace comedy from the creator of ‘Superstore’, the broadcaster has announced.

Set in Detroit, the corporate executives of Payne Motors are at a crossroads: adapt to the changing times or be sent to the junkyard. Shaking things up is the new CEO, whose leadership, experience and savvy is only slightly offset by her complete lack of knowledge about cars. Luckily, her team has some of the best minds in the business – when they aren’t fighting or trying to outwit each other. From the corporate office to the factory floor, the crew of Payne Motors is driving home the laughs.

The series stars Ana Gasteyer (‘SNL’, ‘Suburgatory’) as Katherine Hastings, Payne Motors’ new CEO; Harriet Dyer (‘The InBetween’) as Sadie Ryan, Payne Motors’ CCO; Jon Barinholtz (‘Superstore) as Wesley Payne, the bratty grandson of Payne Motors’ retired CEO; Tye White (‘Greenleaf’) as Jack Fortin, a former assembly-line employee brought in to help in the C-suite who is like a counsellor to Hastings; Michael Benjamin Washington (‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’) as Cyrus Knight, Payne’s Chief Product Designer; Humphrey Ker (‘Mythic Quest’, ‘Welcome To Wrexham’) as Elliot, Payne’s Chief Counsellor; And X Mayo (‘The Daily Show’) as Dori, Hastings’ assistant and social media addict.

The sitcom is created by Justin Spitzer who created ‘Superstore’, and also worked on ‘The Office US’. Spitzer also executive produces alongside Aaron Kaplan. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group,?in association with?Spitzer Holding Company and Kapital Entertainment.

American Auto‘ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 28th December 2022 on Sky Comedy, with the entire ten-episode first season being run out on that date from 5pm-10pm, and available On Demand and via NOW.
