The trailer for the 4th and final season of ‘Succession‘ has landed, which will premiere as a simulcast later this March in the UK on Sky Atlantic & streaming service NOW, and on HBO in the USA.
‘Succession’ explores themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his four grown children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Connor (Alan Ruck).
In Season 4, the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.
Last month it was announced that they would be bringing the drama to a close with this fourth season. This was a creative decision by showrunner/creator, Jesse Armstrong, and the writers. They knocked about a few ideas of where they could possibly go for more seasons, but ultimately decided they wanted to “go out sort of strong,” said Armstrong. “And that was definitely always my preference.”
The drama is created by Jesse Armstrong; executive produced by Jesse Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrell. Jesse Armstrong serves as showrunner.
‘Succession‘ Season 4 will premiere on Monday, 27th March 2023 on Sky Atlantic and NOW at 2am in the UK in a simulcast with the USA, where it airs on HBO/HBO Max, then is repeated on Monday evening.
