‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’ Gets Trailer & April Premiere Date On Netflix

by Dave Elliott

For those of you looking to relive some of your youth, Netflix has released a trailer for ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’, a stand-alone special featuring many of the original cast reprising their roles to celebrate (and I’m sorry to make you feel this old…) the 30th Anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise.

In ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’, 30 years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team comes face-to-face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise “Once a Ranger, always a Ranger,” Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome.

The special brings back Walter Emanuel Jones as Black Ranger, Zack Taylor; David Yost as Blue Ranger, Billy Cranston; Catherine Sutherland as Pink Ranger, Katherine “Kat” Hillard; Steve Cardenas as Red Ranger, Rocky DeSantos; Johnny Yong Bosch as Black Ranger, Adam Park; And Karan Ashley as Yellow Ranger, Aisha Campbell. Also returning is Barbara Goodson as the voice of the villain Rita Repulsa, alongside lackeys Minotaur, Snizzard and the Putty Patrollers. Richard Horvitz is also back as the voice of Ranger assistant Alpha.

In addition to the returning characters, some new faces are also arriving. Charlie Kersh plays Minh, the teenage daughter of original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan, who was played by Thuy Trang, who tragically passed away in 2001 in a car accident. The special pays tribute to both Trang and Jason David Frank, who played Ranger Tommy Oliver, and passed away in 2022 following a long battle with depression.

If you’re wondering about the other missing Rangers from the reunion, Austin St. John, who played the original Red Ranger, Jason Lee Scott, got himself in some… financial legal trouble… in 2022, although it is possible he could have made an appearance, that might have been tricky. Amy Jo Johnson, who played the first Pink Ranger, commented on social media “For the record, I never said no… I just didn’t say yes to what was offered, But other fun stuff is in-store! Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass!”

‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’ premieres Wednesday, 19th April 2023 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
