‘Starstruck’ Season 3 Gets August UK Premiere Date On BBC

The BBC has set an August UK premiere date for Season 3 of the romcom Starstruck, which not only has Rose Matafeo and Nikesh Patel, but also comes with added John Simm too!

Season three continues the story of millennial Londoner Jessie (Rose Matafeo) as she navigates the complications of becoming romantically involved with famous movie star Tom (Nikesh Patel – Four Weddings And A Funeral, Indian Summers).

As we return, Jessie is still living in London and working at the local cinema but is exploring her new single life having parted ways with film star Tom. Two years on from the breakup, Jessie navigates the pressures of adulthood and is confronted with the consequences of her own choices as her friends move on to the next stages in their lives, while Jessie is left questioning what she is really looking for.

The rest of the cast joining Matafeo and Patel sees Emma Sidi (Extraordinary) return as Kate, Al Roberts (Stath Lets Flats) as Ian, and Minnie Driver (Modern Love, Good Will Hunting) reprising her role as Tom’s agent Cath. In addition, John Simm (Life on Mars, Doctor Who) joins the cast as a new character.

Rose Matafeo, Alice Snedden and Nic Sampson co-write the comedy, with Matafeo and Snedden also making their directorial debut on the show this season. ‘Starstruck’ was commissioned for BBC Three by Controller Fiona Campbell and BBC Comedy. Produced by Avalon (Breeders; Last Week Tonight with John Oliver; Flatbush Misdemeanours), Starstruck is executive produced by Rob Aslett, Jon Thoday, Cath Gagon, Richard Allen-Turner, Rose Matafeo, and Gregor Sharp for the BBC.

Starstruck‘ Season 3 premieres Monday, 28th August 2023 on BBC Three, and drops as a box set on BBC iPlayer.
