‘Taskmaster’ Season 16 Gets September Premiere On Channel 4
The beloved gameshow ‘Taskmaster‘ returns this September on Channel 4 for its 16th Season, as a new line-up of celebrities being handed ridiculous quests to complete.
The omniscient, omnipotent and omnivorous Taskmaster Greg Davies and his stunningly efficient assistant Alex Horne are back on their respective thrones on the BAFTA and National Comedy Award Winning series. Sat before them, on much smaller chairs, are a brand-new set of comics ready to test the mettle.
The quivering quintet who have willingly placed their careers in man-mountain Greg’s soft hands are: Julian Clary (Friday Night Live, Channel 4), comedy actor, writer and stand-up Lucy Beaumont (Meet The Richardsons, Dave), multi-award winning stand-up Sam Campbell (Bloods, Sky), presenter, writer and comedian Sue Perkins (Perfectly Legal, Netflix), and actor, writer and director Susan Wokoma (Cheaters, BBC One).
Week by week this fragrant five will wrangle giant ducks, design fresh sausages and create googly-eyed gangs as they seek to attract a word of praise from the Taskmaster. When the dust has settled after 10 gruelling episodes, one contestant will rise from their little seat to collect the coolest prize on TV: a big gold head plonked on a small wooden plinth.
‘Taskmaster’ is produced by Avalon and Executive Producers for the series are Alex Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, James Taylor, Jon Thoday and Andy Devonshire who also acts as Series Director, while Andy Cartwright will also continue as Series Producer. Taskmaster is commissioned for Channel 4 by Tom Beck, Head of Live Events and Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, with Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment and Events.
