BBC Picks Up Hulu Coming-Of-Age Dramedy ‘Love, Victor’ For BBC Three & iPlayer

The BBC has picked up the UK broadcast rights for all three seasons of the coming-of-age dramedy Love, Victor, coming soon to BBC Three and iPlayer.

Following the events of the beloved 2018 film ‘Love, Simon’, ‘Love, Victor’ tells the story of Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino) – a new student at Creekwood High who has just moved with his family from rural Texas to Atlanta. On top of all the usual high school pressures of making friends and fitting in, Victor is still figuring out his sexuality – a tricky subject in his religious family. Reaching out to Simon for advice, Victor slowly but surely learns to be his authentic self and to trust the message from the film – that everyone deserves a great love story.

Season 1 stars Michael Cimino (Never Have I Ever), Rachel Hilson (Red, White & Royal Blue), Anthony Turpel (The Bold and The Beautiful), Bebe Wood (The New Normal), Mason Gooding (Scream VI), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty).

“Love, Victor is a heartfelt, funny and nuanced coming-of-age story, beautifully portrayed by a winning and relatable cast,” said Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition.

This isn’t a UK premiere for ‘Love, Victor’, as all three seasons previously aired on Disney+. However, it is the first time the dramedy has been aired in the UK on free-to-air broadcast TV.

The film’s original writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger serve as executive producers alongside Brian Tanen, Rick Wiener, Kenny Schwartz, Jason Ensler, Isaac Klausner, Marty Bowen, Adam Fishbach, Wyck Godfrey, Pouya Shahbazian and Adam Londy. The series is produced by Temple Hill Entertainment, No Helmet Productions, The Walk-Up Company and 20th Television.

Love, Victor‘ Seasons 1 to 3 do not yet have a premiere date on BBC Three and iPlayer, but will be “coming soon”.
