As you start to dig out your Christmas decorations, Disney+ has plenty of new entertainment and some festive fare to keep you entertained. There’s the eagerly anticipated original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, based on Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan, arriving on the platform. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the fifth instalment in the famous franchise, is also streaming this month, plus plenty of festive favourites like Home Alone and Die Hard, and a seasonal return of Marvel’s What If…? Here is what’s coming to Disney+ in December.

THE SHEPHERD – 1st December 2023 (Short Film)
On Christmas Eve, a young Royal Air Force pilot flying home across the North Sea finds himself in peril when his radio and electric power cut out, leaving him stranded and running on limited fuel. Just when it appears his luck is about to run out, a mysterious good Samaritan guides him to safety.
THE NAUGHTY NINE – 1st December 2023 (Film)
Fifth grader Andy has been a bit of a troublemaker this year. When Christmas morning rolls around and Andy gets stiffed by Santa, he realizes he’s on the Naughty List. Feeling unfairly maligned, Andy pulls together a crack team of fellow naughty listers to pull off an elaborate heist in the North Pole to get the presents that Andy and the others feel they deserve. In the process of finding their gifts, the gang discovers that the spirit of Christmas is more about giving than taking, and decide to face Santa and do the right thing.
THEATER CAMP – 6th December 2023 (Film)
Tony Award winner Ben Platt and Molly Gordon star in the original comedy as Amos and Rebecca-Diane – lifelong best friends and drama instructors at a scrappy camp in upstate New York. After the indomitable and beloved founder of the camp falls into a coma, its eccentric staff must band together with her clueless “crypto-bro” son to keep the thespian paradise afloat. Searchlight Pictures presents, Theater Camp, a Picturestart Production, a Topic Studios Production, a Gloria Sanchez Productions Production. Directed by Molly Gordon & Nick Lieberman, written by Noah Galvin, Molly Gordon, Nick Lieberman, Ben Platt, based on their short film.
DIARY OF A WIMPY KID CHRISTMAS: CABIN FEVER – 8th December 2023 (Film)
The winter holidays are turning out to be especially stressful for Greg Heffley this year. After accidentally damaging a snowplough while making a snowman with best friend Rowley Jefferson, Greg worries he won’t get the new video game console he so desperately wants for Christmas. To make matters worse, he gets snowed in with his family, including his grumpy older brother Rodrick and annoying younger brother Manny.
INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY – 15th December 2023 (Film)
Harrison Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist, Indiana Jones, for this highly anticipated final instalment of the iconic franchise – a big, globe-trotting, rip-roaring adventure! If you’ve been avoiding this due to the reviews, don’t! It’s a wonderful ending for the character and a really fun film! Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford will also arrive on the platform on 15 December.
PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS – 20th December 2023 (Series)
Percy Jackson is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. With the help of his quest mates Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, and find out who he’s destined to be. Opens with a two-episode premiere.
WHAT IF…? Season 2 – 22nd December 2023 (Series)
Season two of What If…? continues the journey as The Watcher guides viewers through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles. Featuring fan-favourite characters this season like Nebula, Hela and Happy Hogan, episodes are directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews with executive producer AC Bradley as head writer.
Other Notable Additions
Outside of the various premieres above, there are more festive (and non-festive) films such as the entire collection of both the Die Hard movies and Home Alone, streaming now. The Michael Caine film Harry Brown is set to land on 29th December, and the 2013 film The Invisible Woman arrives on 1st December.
