Prime Video Releases First-Look Images For ‘Fallout’ Series Coming April 2024
Prime Video has released some “first-look” images for ‘Fallout‘, the epic, highly anticipated series, set in the world of the best-selling global video game franchise, They have also released some character descriptions and more info on the drama!
Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, ‘Fallout’ is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.
So who are we meeting in this world, and who is playing them? Here are the character descriptions:
- Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets) plays “Lucy.” Lucy is an optimistic Vault Dweller with an all-American, can-do spirit. Her peaceful and idealistic nature is tested when people harm her loved ones.
- Aaron Moten (Emancipation) plays “Maximus.” A young soldier hides his tragic past as he serves in a militaristic faction called Brotherhood of Steel. He believes in the nobility of the Brotherhood’s mission to bring law and order to the Wasteland – and will do anything to further their goals.
- Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight, Justified, The Righteous Gemstones) plays “The Ghoul.” The Ghoul survives the Wasteland as a bounty hunter. He is pragmatic, ruthless, and hides a mysterious past.
- Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) plays “Overseer Hank.” Hank is the Overseer of Vault 33 and Lucy’s father. He is eager to change the world for the better.
The series cast includes Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), Michael Emerson (Person of Interest, Lost), Leslie Uggams (Deadpool), Frances Turner (The Boys), Dave Register (Heightened), Zach Cherry (Severance), Johnny Pemberton (Ant-Man), Rodrigo Luzzi (Dead Ringers), Annabel O’Hagan (Law & Order: SVU), and Xelia Mendes-Jones (The Wheel of Time).
The world of Fallout is one where the future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s explodes upon itself through a nuclear war in 2077. The magic of the Fallout world is the harshness of the wasteland set against the previous generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy. It is serious and harsh in tone, yet sprinkled with moments of ironic humour and B-movie nuclear fantasies.
The Fallout games have achieved record-setting sales and received hundreds of awards, including dozens of Game of the Year awards, while its mobile game, Fallout Shelter, has been downloaded more than 170 million times.
The series comes from Kilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider, Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Portlandia, Silicon Valley, Baskets) are the executive producers, writers and co-showrunners. Nolan and Joy exec produce for Kilter Films under their Amazon overall deal, along with Athena Wickham. They are joined by Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks. Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films produce in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Nolan directs the first three episodes of the series.
‘Fallout‘, Season 1 will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, 12th April 2024 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
