Sky and Peacock Announce Additional Cast For Original Series ‘The Day of the Jackal’, coming in 2024

Sky and their US partners, Peacock, have today announced additional cast who will join leads Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch for the upcoming original series ‘The Day of the Jackal, set to premiere in 2024.

This contemporary reimagining of the iconic thriller stars previously announced Academy, Tony and BAFTA award-winner Eddie Redmayne (Broadway’s upcoming CABARET Revival, The Good Nurse, Trial of The Chicago Seven, The Theory of Everything) as The Jackal, an unrivalled and highly elusive lone assassin, and Lashana Lynch (Bob Marley: One Love, The Woman King, No Time To Die) as Bianca, a tenacious MI6 agent in a relentless, global pursuit to catch him.

Joining Redmayne and Lynch is Úrsula Corberó, star of the global hit series La Casa De Papel (Money Heist), who will play Nuria, someone at the heart of The Jackal’s personal life, entirely unaware of who he truly is; Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, The King’s Man) featuring in the role of Timothy Winthrop; Richard Dormer (Blue Lights, Fortitude, Game of Thrones) as Norman; Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, The Split) as Osita Halcrow; Lia Williams (The Capture, The Crown) as Isabel Kirby; Khalid Abdalla (The Crown, The Kite Runner) as Ulle Dag Charles;  Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead, I Used To Be Famous) as Zina Jansone; Jonjo O’Neill (Andor, Bad Sisters) as Edward Carver; And Sule Rimi (Classified, Andor) as Paul Pullman.

The 10-part adaptation is based on the seminal novel by Frederick Forsyth and the subsequent award-winning 1973 film from Universal Pictures. The series is produced by Downton Abbey and The Last Kingdom producers Carnival Films, part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group, and was commissioned by Sky Studios and Peacock.

The series is written and adapted by Ronan Bennett, creator and writer of the critically acclaimed Top Boy. Internationally award-winning Director Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Luther, Boardwalk Empire) is the lead director.

Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant are Executive Producers for Carnival Films. Redmayne is also an Executive Producer, and Lynch a Co-Executive Producer on the project. Sam Hoyle is the Executive Producer for Sky Studios.  Sue Naegle serves as Executive Producer and Marianne Buckland as Co-Executive Producer. Christopher Hall is Producer and Emily Shapland is Co-Producer. Frederick Forsyth is Consulting Producer.

The Day of the Jackal‘ does not have an exact premiere date but will launch in 2024 on Peacock in the US and on Sky in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
