‘Only Murders In The Building‘ has lined up an interesting set of new suspects for Season 4 as it’s announced Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Molly Shannon will join Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, along with a returning Meryl Streep when the comedy returns.
From the minds of Steve Martin and John Hoffman (‘Grace and Frankie’), the series follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.
The most recent third season, saw Charles, Oliver & Mabel investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show. Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) played a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), our trio embarked on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempted to put his show back together. That season concluded with (SPOILERS) the murder of the wonderful Sazz Pataki (played by Jane Lynch), the long-time friend and stunt double of Charles from his work on the “Brazzos” series.
As yet we don’t know much about the exact plot of season four, although, as hinted at the end of last season, it will involve a trip to LA, however, the gang will return to NYC to solve Sazz’s murder. Molly Shannon (‘SNL’, ‘I Love That for You’, ‘The White Lotus’) will play an LA businesswoman who gets tied up in the case. Eva Longoria (‘Desperate Housewives’) plays another character who is integral to the investigation, as will the character played by Eugene Levy (‘Schitt’s Creek’, ‘The Reluctant Traveler’).
‘Only Murders in the Building’ hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (‘Grace & Frankie’, ‘Looking’). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, ‘This Is Us’ creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
