It’s been a good few weeks for Dick Wolf, as three more of his shows land renewals. ‘FBI: Most Wanted‘ gets Season 6 and ‘FBI: International‘ lands Season 4, whilst the main ‘FBI‘ has secured a whopping three-season renewal, taking it all the way up to Season 9!
FBI’ is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe.
‘FBI: Most Wanted’ is a high-stakes drama that focuses on the Fugitive Task Force, an elite unit that relentlessly pursues and captures the notorious criminals on the Bureau’s Most Wanted list.
‘FBI: International’ is the third iteration of the successful FBI brand that follows the elite operatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s International Fly Team. Headquartered in Budapest, they travel the world to track and neutralise threats against American citizens wherever they may be, putting their lives on the line to protect the U.S.
“The All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule,” said CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach. “Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”
These latest renewals come just weeks after NBC announced they had renewed Dick Wolf’s other big franchises “One Chicago”, alongside ‘Law & Order’ & ‘Law & Order: SVU’. The only major network series of Mr Wolf’s which hasn’t yet landed a renewal is ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’, although that may still get a reprieve, as it is still under discussion with NBC.
Outside of the “Wolf-verse”, CBS has already renewed ‘Tracker‘ for Season 2, ‘NCIS: Sydney’ for Season 2, ‘Fire Country’ for Season 3, and ‘Ghosts’ for Season 4. We are hurtling towards the dreaded “TV Bloodbath”, where all the main networks renew or cancel shows prior to revealing new and returning shows to advertisers at “Upfronts” presentations in May. Just a note for your calendars, the final likely “Bloodbath” day this year is Friday, 10th May 2024, although we will probably know many of the renewals and cancellations before then. “Upfronts” are scheduled across the week beginning Monday, 13th May 2024.
All three shows come from Emmy Award winner Dick Wolf. They are produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with CBS Studios.
‘FBI‘, ‘FBI: Most Wanted‘ and ‘FBI: International‘ are currently airing their latest seasons on Sky Witness and streaming service NOW in the UK.
