‘Heartstopper’ Season 3 Get October Premiere Date On Netflix

by Dave Elliott

Heartstopper Season 3 officially has an October premiere date on Netflix, and to celebrate the announcement, the streamer has released a little clip of the upcoming season.

The series follows the old tale – Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. When gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick meet at secondary school, they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self-discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.

Season 3 picks up with Charlie eager to tell Nick that he loves him and Nick holding on to something important he has to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realize that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties, and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.

There will be some new faces (and big names!) joining Kit Connor and Joe Locke, who return as Charlie and Nick, in Season 3. Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter, Black Mirror) will play Nick’s aunt, Diane, who takes Nick on a summer holiday to Menorca; Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, Fair Play) will portray the beloved graphic novel character Geoff, Charlie’s wise and straight-talking therapist; And Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Crashing) will cameo as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous classicist and Charlie’s celebrity crush. In addition to those three, Darragh Hand (Silent Witness) joins as Michael Holden, a quirky, eccentric optimist with a sunshine disposition.

They join the returning cast of William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Tobie Donovan, Jenny Walser, Rhea Norwood, and Leila Khan.

Author of the original graphic novels, Alice Oseman, serves as writer and creator of the series. Andy Newbery (Shetland, Keeping Faith) is the director. The drama is produced by See-Saw Films for Netflix, with Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Alice Oseman, Euros Lyn as exec producers.

Heartstopper‘ Season 3 premieres Thursday, 3rd October 2024 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
