‘Hudson & Rex’ Renewed For Season 7

One man and his very good boy partner return

by Dave Elliott

Canada’s Citytv has announced that the much beloved “one cop and his dog” police series Hudson & Rex will be back as the broadcast renews the drama for a 7th Season.

‘Hudson & Rex’ stars John Reardon (‘Van Helsing’, ‘Continuum’) as Detective Charlie Hudson and his intrepid German Shepherd Rex (the fabulously named good boy, Diesel vom Burgimwald) back on the trail of St. John’s most devious criminals. Together, they investigate puzzling crimes, from a kidnapping which reveals a much larger conspiracy at play to an art theft murder which runs deep into the world of high society. With Charlie’s deft detective work and Rex’s keen canine senses, this crime-fighting pair is unstoppable.

The announcement came in the form of a video on social media, with Citytv commenting “We’re wagging our tails with excitement! Our favourite cop-and-canine duo is BACK for an all-new season of #HudsonAndRex returning in 2025 on Citytv. It’s season 7 – that’s season 49 in dog years!”
