ITVX License Disney Series ‘Welcome to Chippendales’ & ‘Culprits’

Free-to-air streaming UK premiere

by Dave Elliott

ITVX has picked up the free-to-air streaming license for two shows from Disney to stream later this year – The Hulu drama Welcome to Chippendales, and Disney+ UK Original, Culprits.

A sprawling true-crime saga, ‘Welcome to Chippendales’ tells the outrageous story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, an Indian immigrant who became the unlikely founder of the world’s greatest male-stripping empire – and lets nothing stand in his way in the process.

The star-studded cast of this series includes Kumail Nanjiani, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis and Annaleigh Ashford with recurring guest stars Quentin Plair, Robin de Jesús, Andrew Rannells and Spencer Boldman alongside guest stars Nicola Peltz Beckham and Dan Stevens.

Crime thriller ‘Culprits’ centres on family man Joe Petrus living the American dream with his fiancé and step-kids. However, unbeknownst to them, Joe was involved in a mysterious crime three years ago and now his dangerous past is about to catch up with him. When a killer starts targeting the crew behind the crime, Joe realises it’s only a matter of time before his family is targeted. He returns to London to track down his old gang and find out who is coming after them.

The stellar British cast includes Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Niamh Algar, Gemma Arterton, Eddie Izzard and Kirby.

Both of these series have previously streamed on Disney+ in the UK, however, this is the first time they will be available on a free-to-air streaming platform. This is the second pair of shows ITVX has picked up from Disney following the free-to-air acquisition of season one of the utterly fantastic British superpowered comedy series Extraordinary, and the critically acclaimed miniseries drama Under the Banner of Heaven starring Andrew Garfield.

Both ‘Welcome to Chippendales‘ and ‘Culprits‘ do not yet have UK free-to-air premiere dates on ITVX, but will land at some point later in 2024. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
