Disney+ has confirmed two of US network ABC’s new shows – ‘High Potential‘ starring Kaitlin Olson and Ryan Murphy’s ‘Doctor Odyssey‘ – will be coming to the streaming service in the UK this Autumn. Here is a bit more about each show.
‘High Potential‘ is a crime procedural that stars the incomparable Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Morgan, a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective, played by Daniel Sunjata (Rescue Me, Manifest, Graceland).
Alongside Olson and Sunjata, the series also stars Javicia Leslie (Batwoman) as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz (The Flight Attendant, Siren) as Lev “Oz” Osman, Amirah J (Shameless) as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes (Scrubs, Devious Maids) as Selena.
The drama was created by Drew Goddard (BuffyAngel, Daredevil, Lost, The Martian) based on the French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI).” Todd Harthan (The Resident, Rosewood, Psych) serves as showrunner.
‘Doctor Odyssey‘ is described as a “high-octane medical procedural” from the mind of Ryan Murphy (9-1-1, American Horror Story, Glee and a million other shows!). The series stars Joshua Jackson (Fringe, Dawson’s Creek, The Affair) as Max, the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.
Alongside Jackson, the drama also stars Don Johnson (Miami Vice, Nash Bridges), Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, Shining Girls, Dopesick) and Sean Teale (The Gifted, Rosealine, Who is Erin Carter?).
‘Doctor Odyssey’ is written and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, alongside Jackson, Johnson, Jon Robin Baitz (Feud: Bette and Joan) and Joe Baken (American Horror Stories). Paris Barclay (Station 19, American Horror Story) directs and executive produces.
‘High Potential‘ Season 1 and ‘Doctor Odyssey‘ Season 1 do not yet have exact premiere dates for Disney+ UK, but will be landing in Autumn 2024.
