Great news for fans of brilliant lawyer-based dramedy! Netflix has announced ‘The Lincoln Lawyer‘ Season 3 will premiere this October on the streaming service.
Based on the series of bestselling novels by renowned author Michael Connelly, ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ follows Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), an iconoclastic idealist, who runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles.
The new 10-episode season is based on The Gods of Guilt, the fifth book of the Mickey Haller novels by Michael Connelly. If you remember where things were left at the end of season two (SPOILERS), after the main plotline, involving restaurateur and activist Lisa Trammell (Lana Parrilla), was wrapped up, Mickey got a call to meet with Julian La Cosse (Devon Graye – ‘The Flash’, ‘Nope’), a pimp accused of murdering a “Giselle Dallinger”, but swears he’s innocent. When Mickey heads to the morgue to check out the victim, it turns out to be none other than his friend/ex-client Glory Days (played by Fiona Rene).
“This season is very exciting,” said star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. “We see Mickey struggling with so many things at the same time — with romance, with the wives, with the cases. You never expect what’s going to happen, who’s going to be bad and who’s going to be guilty.”
Alongside Garcia-Rulfo, the returning main cast includes Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), Angus Sampson (Cisco), and Yaya DaCosta (Andrea). Neve Campbell (Maggie), Elliott Gould (Legal Siegel), Krista Warner (Hayley), Fiona Rene (Glory Days), and Devon Graye (Julian La Cosse) will also make appearances this season.
There will also be some new faces this year, including Merrin Dungey (The Resident, Big Little Lies) as Judge Regina Turner, a former public defender who’s younger and more progressive than most judges in the district — but whether that’s a benefit to Mickey or not remains to be seen; Newcomer Allyn Moriyon makes his television debut as Eddie Rojas, a fitness buff (and former babysitter to Mickey’s daughter, Hayley) who’s in need of a very good lawyer. Luckily, Mickey is able to help, and then offers him the opportunity of a lifetime; John Pirruccello (Barry, The Valet) plays William Forsythe, a seemingly nonthreatening prosecutor who Mickey’s excited to go up against. Once the trial starts, however, it’s clear that nothing’s as it seems…; And Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (Grimm, The Company You Keep) as Adam Suarez, the chief deputy district attorney, to whom prosecutor Andrea reports and is a force to reckon with.
‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ was created for television by David E. Kelley (‘Big Little Lies’, ‘Goliath’) and developed by Ted Humphrey (‘The Good Wife’, ‘Wisdom of the Crowd’). Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez executive produce alongside Kelley, Michael Connelly, Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen and Tana Jamieson. A+E serves as the studio.
‘The Lincoln Lawyer‘ Season 3 premieres Thursday, 17th October 2024 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
