Prime Video has announced Matt Berry, Rahul Kohl, Michael Trucco, Merle Dandridge & Gabriel Leone have joined Season 2 of Citadel, the fun, over-the-top, spy thriller starring Richard Madden and Priyanka-Chopra Jonas.

Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency – tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people – was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts… That is until one night when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous yet undying love.

Joining Season 2 are Matt Berry (What We Do In The Shadows), Rahul Kohli (The Fall of the House of Usher, iZombie), Michael Trucco (Fire Country, The Fall of the House of Usher), Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us), and Gabriel Leone (Ferrari). Their roles have yet to be announced, however, the series will begin filming later this year.

They join Richard Madden and Priyanka-Chopra Jonas, who return to front the series, alongside Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville, who reprise their roles. There is one other previously announced new addition, Jack Reynor (The Peripheral, Strange Angel), but again, we don’t know his role.

The first season of ‘Citadel’ premiered to global success in 2023, becoming Prime Video’s second most-watched new original series outside the U.S., and fourth most-watched worldwide, after 24 days… Which was probably quite a relief for Amazon, give the show was designed as a global landmark franchise, with various spin-offs planned from the outset. The first of those spin-offs is The Italian Original, Citadel: Diana, which premieres October 10, 2024, followed by India’s series, Citadel: Honey Bunny starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha on November 7, 2024.

From Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, ‘Citadel’ is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer, and Joe Russo serving as director. Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg serve as executive producers for Midnight Radio. Newton Thomas Sigel and Patrick Moran also serve as executive producers.

Citadel‘ Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Prime Video worldwide. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
