Apple TV+ has released a trailer for Season 2 of the excellent sci-fi drama ‘Silo‘ which returns to the streaming service this November.
Based on Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy “Wool,” ‘Silo’ is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles into a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
If you need a season one recap (SPOILERS, obviously!) After uncovering a conspiracy to hide the truth about the silo, Juliette is offered a deal by Bernard (Tim Robbins) – If she leaves the silo for the outside (and presumed death), he won’t punish the team in Mechanical for harbouring her and will reveal what happened to George. She agrees.
When she steps outside, it first appears to be a lush landscape, however, Juliette realises this is a fake feed sent to her helmet as a way to encourage those sent outside to “clean” the camera to show the inside of the silo it is actually safe outside, then remove their helmet (thereby killing themselves). She sees the truth, that it really is the desolate wasteland it appeared to be, and does not remove her helmet, but climbs out of the crater out of the view of the camera. There she sees dozens of other craters, each with their own silo.
In addition to Ferguson, season two stars new addition Steve Zahn (The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, Dallas Buyers Club), alongside returning stars Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie and Iain Glen.
‘Silo’ is produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios. The series is executive produced by Yost, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum, Howey, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon and AMC Studios.
‘Silo‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 15th November 2024 on Apple TV+ globally.
