ITVX is, once again, extending its catalogue of boxsets, this time with two horror series – all three seasons of horror-comedy ‘Stan Against Evil‘, and neo-noir horror drama ‘Deadwax’.
In ‘Stan Against Evil’, 172 demons have been unleashed on the residents of Williard’s Mill as payback for a massive witch-burning hundreds of years ago. Evie (Janet Varney – ‘You’re the Worst’), the lucky new sheriff in town, needs to work with the former sheriff, Stan Miller (John C. McGinley – ‘Scrubs’ ), who was forced to retire after an altercation at his wife’s funeral. The only way both Evie and Stan can save the town is to find and destroy every one of the demons. The key to saving the town lies in decoding a century’s old book, found in Stan’s recently deceased wife’s sewing room.
The series is created by Dana Gould and produced by RadicalMedia. It also starred Nate Mooney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Deputy Leon Drinkwater, and Deborah Baker Jr. (The Neighborhood) as Denise Miller, Stan’s daughter.
‘Deadwax’ is a mindbending neo-noir horror series set in the obsessive world of vinyl collecting. Etta Pryce (Hannah Gross – ‘Mindhunter’), a vinyl tracker, is hired by a rich collector to hunt a legendary rare record that has driven its owners mad and killed anyone who has dared to play it. The more Etta investigates and learns about how impossibly dangerous, and real, this record may actually be, the more seduced she becomes by the temptation of hearing it herself – no matter what the cost.
The series was directed and written by Graham Reznick, who co-wrote the horror video game Until Dawn.
ITVX is turning into a pretty decent streaming destination for picking up older box sets that you may have missed when they originally aired. Most recently that has included all 4 seasons of Arrowverse show ‘Black Lightning’, joining both ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’. They also recently added all seasons of ‘Snowpiercer’, including the 4th season which had not previously aired in the UK.
‘Stan Against Evil‘ Season 1-3 will land on ITVX to stream from Thursday 13th March 2025. ‘Deadwax’ will stream from Thursday, 20th March 2025.
