‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Gets July Premiere On Paramount+

by Dave Elliott

Paramount+ has confirmed a July premiere date for Dexter: Resurrection, the continuation of the serial killer’s story, which sees Michael C. Hall reprise the title role, along with some old faces from the original show, and half of Hollywood as new cast and guest stars!

‘Dexter: Resurrection’, a continuation of ‘Dexter: New Blood’ (which was a continuation of the original ‘Dexter’), takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan (Hall) takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realising the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easy. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realises his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined – and that the only way out is together.

In addition to Hall, the drama stars Uma Thurman (Kill Bill, Suspicion) as Charley, alongside David Zayas (Dexter, Blue Bloods) reprising his role as Detective Angel Batista. Jack Alcott (Dexter: New Blood, The Good Lord Bird) returns as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan, while Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Chi, Treme) joins the story as Blessing Kamara. The cast also includes Kadia Saraf (Law & Order: SVU, The Blacklist) as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie, 13 Hours) as Detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suárez (Orange Is the New Black, Up Here) as Elsa Rivera. Rounding out the ensemble, James Remar (Dexter, Black Lightning) returns as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father, and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Cyrano) appears as Leon Prater.

Guest stars include Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Uncoupled) as Lowell, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23) as Mia, Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family, CSI) as Al, and David Dastmalchian (Dune, Ant-Man) as Gareth, adding even more star power to the already impressive lineup.

‘Dexter: Resurrection’ is executive produced by Emmy nominee Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: Original Sin, Nurse Jackie), who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), Lilly Burns (Russian Doll) and Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood). Monica Raymund (Dexter: Original Sin) is set to direct four episodes with Marcos Siega directing six episodes for the series. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

If you want to find out more about the show before it launches, Paramount+ has revealed that Michael C. Hall and David Zayas – plus Clyde Phillips and Scott Reynolds – are headed to Mexico City for an exclusive ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ panel at CCXP Mexico on Saturday, May 31.

Dexter: Resurrection‘ gets a two-episode premiere on Friday, 11th July 2025 on Paramount+ in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
