One Chicago Renewed At NBC – Chicago Fire (S14), Med (S11) & PD (S13)

by Dave Elliott

One Chicago will be back for another year, as NBC renews Chicago Fire for Season 14, Chicago Med for Season 11 and ‘Chicago PD for Season 13.

NBC’s “One Chicago” franchise, comprising Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med, has been captivating audiences since 2012 with its gripping portrayal of first responders in the Windy City. Created by Dick Wolf, the interconnected series delve into the professional and personal lives of firefighters, police officers, and medical staff, often intersecting through compelling crossover events. With each show now in double-digit seasons, the franchise continues to deliver high-stakes drama and emotional storytelling.

The renewal of all three series reaffirms their enduring popularity and the strong connection they’ve forged with viewers over the years. They have also been a hit for the network, with all three shows making One Chicago the most-watched drama franchise on broadcast TV, with 46 million total viewers this season to date across NBC and Peacock.

Behind the scenes, there have been some slight budget tweaks hashed out between NBC and Wolf Entertainment, which is not unusual for veteran shows. We may find the seasons are a couple of episodes shorter when they return for 2025-26, but that is still being worked out between Wolf and NBC.

“Chicago Med” is executive produced by Dick Wolf, Allen MacDonald, Stephen Hootstein and Peter Jankowski. “Chicago Fire”  is executive produced by Wolf, Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, Matt Whitney and Jankowski. “Chicago P.D.” airs at 10 p.m. Wednesdays and is executive produced by Wolf, Gwen Sigan, Chad Saxton, Gavin Harris, Jason Beghe, and Jankowski.

Chicago Fire‘ Season 13, ‘Chicago Med‘ Season 10, and ‘Chicago PD‘ Season 12 air Friday nights from 8pm on Sky Witness and NOW in the UK.
