ITVX has picked up the thriller ‘Suspicion‘, another decent boxset drama which has previously aired elsewhere, which stars Kunal Nayyar, Elizabeth Henstridge, alongside Hollywood star Uma Thurman, and will get its free-to-air debut in June.
Based on the award-winning Israeli series ‘False Flag’, ‘Suspicion’ follows five seemingly ordinary people accused of kidnapping. When the son of PR mogul Katherine Newman (Uma Thurman – ‘Kill Bill’, ‘Pulp Fiction’) is snatched from a New York hotel, Natalie Thompson (Georgina Campbell – ‘Murdered by My Boyfriend’, ‘Krypton’), Aadesh Chopra (Kunal Nayyar – ‘Big Bang Theory’), Tara McAllister (Elizabeth Henstridge – ‘Agents Of Shield’), Eddie Walker (Tom Rhys Harries – ‘Doctor Who’, ‘White Lines’) and Sean Tilson (Eyles Gabel – ‘Casualty’, ‘Scorpion’) are thrown together in a desperate race to prove their innocence. Could they really be part of an underground movement, or might losing everything turn them into one? When the masks finally come off, will anything be quite as it appeared?
The cast also includes Robert Glenister (Hustle, Sherwood), Angel Coulby (Merlin, The Tunnel), Gerran Howell (Young Dracula, Catch-22), Karl Johnson (Hot Fuzz, Lark Rise to Candleford), and Noah Emmerich (The Americans, The Truman Show).
The drama originally premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022. Although it was planned as an ongoing series but was cancelled after one season, the first season is a reasonably self-contained story so is worth watching.
‘Suspicion’ was developed by Rob Williams, known for his work on The Man in the High Castle and Killing Eve. The show is based on the Israeli series False Flag and was produced by Keshet UK. Executive producers included Williams, alongside Howard Burch, Avi Nir, Anna Winger, and Liat Benasuly. Chris Long (The Americans, The Mentalist) directed several key episodes and also served as an executive producer.
‘Suspicion‘ will land on ITVX with all 8 episodes on Sunday, 15th June 2025.
