Netflix has announced that not only will the suave gentleman thief ‘Lupin‘ return for a 4th Season, but production has already begun on the hit French-language drama in Paris!
‘Lupin’ stars Omar Sy (‘Intouchables’, ‘The Call of the Wild’) in a contemporary adaptation of the Maurice LeBlanc novels. As a teenager, Assane Diop’s (Sy) life was turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. 25 years later, Assane uses “Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar” as his inspiration to avenge his father.
In Season 3 (SPOILERS), we saw Assane steal the Black Pearl, earn the support of the French public, fake his own death, and save his estranged mother’s life. That’s all before realising the only way he can ensure a safe and quiet life for his family is to sacrifice himself, and he turns himself in to the police. That season ends with Assane behind bars… but for how long?
Omar Sy reprises his iconic role as Assane Diop, the gentleman thief, and is joined by Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard.

The series is created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan with the participation of Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer and Tigran Rosine. The eight-part fourth season will be directed by Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout and Hugo Gelin, with Sy and Louis Leterrier acting as showrunners. It is produced by Gaumont in collaboration with Sy’s Carrousel Studios, with Leterrier and Thomas Benski.
