ITVX has, once again, become the home of an older show which was abandoned in the UK min-run. This time, it’s the turn of sci-fi drama ‘Roswell New Mexico‘, and the streamer will air all four seasons. Seasons 3 & 4 have never aired in the UK before.
Based on the Roswell High book series, ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ is a love story, a relationship drama and the story of a small town… which happens to have aliens. More than maybe anywhere else on Earth, Roswell is ground zero for those who seek proof that aliens exist. Roswell local Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason) left it all behind 10 years ago after the death of her beloved older sister Rosa. But after the Government cuts funding on her biomedical research, she reluctantly returns to her hometown to move back in with her father.
When Liz arrives, she reconnects with Max Evans (Nathan Dean Parsons), her teenage crush who is now a Roswell police officer. Their chemistry is instantly electric, but Liz soon discovers a shocking truth: Max is an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life, along with those of his sister Isobel and their friend Michael. Meanwhile, a long-standing government conspiracy will threaten to expose Max and his family and could endanger his deepening romance with Liz… as well as their lives.
The new series stars Jeanine Mason (Grey’s Anatomy), Nathan Dean Parsons (The Originals), Michael Vlamis (New Girl), Lily Cowles (BrainDead), Tyler Blackburn (Pretty Little Liars), Heather Hemmens (Hellcats), Michael Trevino (The Vampire Diaries), Trevor St. John (Containment) and Karan Oberoi (NCIS).
The drama originally ran on The CW in the USA from 2019 to 2022. ITV2 ran the first two seasons in the UK back in 2020, but then dropped it, so this will be a UK premiere for seasons three and four.
The series comes from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Amblin Television and Bender Brown Productions, with executive producers Carina Adly MacKenzie (‘The Originals’), Chris Hollier (‘Once Upon A Time’), Julie Plec (‘The Vampire Diaries’), Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey (‘The Americans’), Lawrence Bender (‘Pulp Fiction’) and Kevin Kelly Brown (‘Roswell’).
