Sky Drops First-Look Teaser for Thrilling New Drama ‘The Iris Affair’ From Luther’s Neil Cross

by Dave Elliott

Sky has released a first-look teaser trailer for The Iris Affair, a tense and sun-drenched chase thriller that sets two brilliant minds on a collision course across Italy.

When enigmatic genius Iris Nixon (played by Niamh Algar (Mary & George, The Virtues)) solves a string of complex online puzzles, she’s drawn to a piazza in Florence where she encounters charismatic entrepreneur Cameron Beck (played by Tom Hollander (The White Lotus, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans)). Beck invites her to join him in unlocking a powerful and top-secret piece of technology. But when Iris realises its dangerous potential, she steals the journal containing the device’s activation sequence and vanishes into the shadows.

What follows is a relentless pursuit, from a remote Sardinian cabin to the bustling streets of Rome, as Cameron races to track Iris in a deadly game of trust, betrayal, and high stakes where failure could be catastrophic.

Created, written, and showrun by Neil Cross (Luther), ‘The Iris Affair’ comes from Sky Studios and Fremantle. The series is directed by Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and Sarah O’Gorman (A Gentleman in Moscow, The Witcher), with Tim Bricknell (The Power, Taboo) serving as Series Executive Producer. Episodes are also written by Susan E. Connolly and Ian Scott McCullough.

A stacked international cast

Joining Algar and Hollander is a stellar supporting cast, including Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones, Force Majeure), Harry Lloyd (Arcane, Marcella), Meréana Tomlinson (The Trials), Sacha Dhawan (The Great, Doctor Who), Maya Sansa (Good Morning, Night, Dormant Beauty), Peter Sullivan (Poldark, The Borgias), Debi Mazar (Younger, Entourage), Marco Leonardi (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Anime Nere), Angela Bruce (Silver Haze, Doctor Who), and Lorenzo De Moor (A Simple Favor 2, Dolce Fine Giornata).

The Iris Affair’ will launch this autumn on Sky and streaming service NOW. If I want to keep track of this or any other shows, I can add them via our Never Miss system, and I’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
