The BBC has unveiled the official trailer for ‘The Guest‘, a dark and gripping new four-part psychological thriller starring Eve Myles (Keeping Faith, Torchwood) and Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin), which lands on BBC One and iPlayer this September.
Created, written and executive produced by Matthew Barry (Men Up), ‘The Guest’ comes from Quay Street Productions (Fool Me Once, Dead Hot, Missing You) in a co-commission with BBC Cymru Wales. The trailer teases an intense and unsettling exploration of obsession, manipulation, and the dangerous fallout of toxic relationships.
At the heart of the story is the relationship between Fran (Myles), a successful and confident businesswoman, and Ria (Creevy), her shy, hesitant employee. For Ria, life has always been about surviving, not striving. That changes when Fran enters her world. What begins as cleaning for Fran spirals into a deep emotional entanglement, with Fran guiding Ria into a transformation that soon crosses dangerous lines. When a life-altering event shakes their bond, the power dynamic between them warps into a game of secrets, betrayals, and blurred boundaries where control shifts at every turn.
Alongside Myles and Creevy, the cast features Sion Daniel Young (The Left Behind) and Emun Elliott (The Rig).
Behind the camera, Ashley Way (Who Is Erin Carter?) directs all four episodes and also serves as executive producer, with Karen Lewis (Happy Valley) producing. The creative team is further bolstered by executive producers Davina Earl (The Red King), Nicola Shindler (After the Flood), Rebecca Ferguson, and Nick Andrews for the BBC. The series is produced with the support of the Welsh Government via Creative Wales and distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
‘The Guest’ Season 1 premieres Monday, 1st September 2025 at 9:00 pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
