‘Doc’, FOX’s breakout hit medical drama, is finally heading to the UK this September, with Sky and NOW picking up the rights to the series.
Starring Molly Parker (House of Cards), the series follows Dr. Amy Larsen, once the hard-charging Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a traumatic brain injury erases the last eight years of her memory, Amy must rebuild both her personal and professional life from scratch. She has no recollection of patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s clashed with, the soulmate she divorced, or even the man she now loves. The only constant is her estranged 17-year-old daughter — whom she remembers only as a nine-year-old — and a small circle of devoted friends.
Despite losing nearly a decade of experience, Amy is determined to keep practising medicine. That determination sets up a drama packed with both emotional family tension and the intense, life-or-death stakes of hospital life.
The cast includes Omar Metwally (Big Sky, The Affair), Amirah Vann (How to Get Away with Murder), Jon Ecker (Firefly Lane), and Anya Banerjee (The Blacklist), with recurring roles for Scott Wolf (Party of Five, Nancy Drew) and Patrick Walker (Lessons in Chemistry).
‘Doc’ premiered in the US in January 2025, drawing over 16 million viewers for its first episode, making it FOX’s most-watched debut in more than five years. The show quickly became FOX’s most-streamed new series launch and was recently renewed for a bumper 22-episode second season, which will air in 2026.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios, the series is overseen by showrunner Barbie Kligman, with Hank Steinberg (Channel Road Productions) and Erwin Stoff (3 Arts Entertainment) executive producing. It is inspired by a true story and based on the acclaimed Italian drama Doc – Nelle tue mani, produced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle company.
