The BBC has confirmed that ‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ will return for a third season, with filming already underway in the UK and France. The hit World War Two drama from Steven Knight has once again been pre-bought by MGM+ in the US, continuing the international partnership that has carried the show across multiple territories.
The series stars Jack O’Connell (This Is England, Unbroken), Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown), and Eve Mansour. They will all be back for season three, alongside new recruits Nick Hargrove (Devotion), Lorne MacFadyen (Vigil, Starstruck), Andrew Dawson, and *Jake Jarratt.
Based on Ben Macintyre’s bestselling book, ‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ tells the story of how the legendary Special Forces unit was born in the darkest days of the Second World War. Season three picks up as Paddy Mayne (O’Connell) and his rogues parachute behind enemy lines to disrupt the might of the German army. As the liberation of Western Europe begins, they must work with the French resistance and fresh recruits, facing brutal odds and battles that could break even the fiercest soldiers.
Creator Steven Knight teased the new run by saying:
“Never has the war been so bloody and never have the stakes been so high. The Rogue Heroes dare to win, but at what cost to themselves and their souls?”
The show continues to be produced by Kudos and Nebulastar, with international distribution handled by Banijay Rights. Previous seasons sold widely, landing on platforms such as MGM+ in the US, HBO Max in Europe, Prime Video in Canada, SBS in Australia, Starzplay in the Middle East, Paramount+ in Germany, and Canal+ in France.
Season three of ‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ is currently filming and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, with MGM+ carrying it in the US.
