Natasha Lyonne and Matt Berry to Star in New Sky Original Action-Comedy Series ‘Force & Majeure’

by Dave Elliott

Sky has announced a brand new six-part Original series, Force & Majeure, a sharply funny and stylish action-adventure comedy starring Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face, Russian Doll) and Matt Berry (Toast of London, What We Do in the Shadows).

Created by acclaimed comedy writer Tom Scharpling (Monk, What We Do in the Shadows) alongside Lyonne and Berry, the series is described as a retro-infused, playfully irreverent spin on the classic TV action-adventure detective genre. The writing team also includes Iain Morris (The Inbetweeners, Time Bandits) and Cirocco Dunlap (Russian Doll, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy).

In ‘Force & Majeure’, Berry plays British art expert-turned-thief Thomas Force, while Lyonne stars as American mercenary Jennifer Majeure. The unlikely duo are recruited by eccentric, justice-obsessed billionaire Amanda Daventry, who sends them off to thwart the schemes of international villains across glamorous European backdrops. However, the bigger challenge may be surviving Amanda herself, as she is clearly not telling them everything.

The series comes from Objective Fiction, part of Objective Media Group (an All3Media company), and Animal Pictures, Lyonne’s Emmy-winning production company behind Poker Face and Russian Doll. Executive producers include Ben Farrell and Hannah Mackay for Objective Fiction, Natasha Lyonne and Max Ferguson for Animal Pictures, plus Berry, Scharpling, Morris, Dunlap, and Alex Moody for Sky.

‘Force & Majeure’ is set to begin filming in early 2026 and will air exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland, with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution handling international sales.

Force & Majeure‘ does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
