ITVX To Stream Every Season Of ‘24’ Plus Spin-Offs This October

ITV has struck a deal with Disney Entertainment to bring ‘24’ and its spin-offs to UK streaming audiences this October. That means every pulse-pounding season of the Emmy Award-winning series, alongside ‘24: Live Another Day’ and ‘24: Legacy’, will soon be available on ITVX. All episodes arrive from Thursday, 2nd October.

Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, ‘24’ became a television phenomenon thanks to its real-time format. Each season followed one single day in the life of Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer, portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland (Designated Survivor, Rabbit Hole). From presidential assassination attempts to nuclear bombs, bioterrorism, cyberattacks and government conspiracies, Jack’s very long days defined early 2000s action TV.

The 2014 limited series ‘24: Live Another Day’ saw Jack resurface in London, teaming once again with Chloe O’Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub) to stop a global terrorist threat. Then, in 2017, Fox attempted to continue the brand with ‘24: Legacy’, starring Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Miranda Otto (Homeland), and Anna Diop (Titans). While it retained the real-time tension, that spin-off only lasted a single season.

This new ITVX deal also lands at an interesting time. Earlier this month, we reported on Kiefer Sutherland confirming that “something has been written” for a possible new ‘24’ project. While nothing is official yet, he revealed that longtime producer Howard Gordon has an idea on the table and, crucially, an actual script exists. With Disney now holding the rights and ITVX licensing the back catalogue, fans can’t help but wonder if the clock could start ticking again for Jack Bauer.
