Paramount+ has lifted the lid on the first trailer for ‘The Revenge Club‘, an upcoming dark comedy thriller coming this December. The six-part UK series brings together an impressive cast, a wicked premise, and just enough escalating chaos to make you wonder whether group therapy might have been the safer option.
The show follows a mismatched set of divorce support group attendees who discover they have one thing in common. They have baggage. Lots of it. Feeling bruised and betrayed, they decide to channel that hurt into an ill-advised collective hobby: getting even with the people who broke their hearts. What begins as petty pranks quickly snowballs into something a lot more dramatic, with forged exam papers, tarot scams and even rat-based mischief among their early experiments in revenge. It is all fun and games until the accidents turn a little too serious for comfort.
Front and centre are Martin Compston (Line of Duty, Mayflies) and Aimée Ffion Edwards (Slow Horses, Peaky Blinders) as Emily and Calum, joined by Meera Syal (Mrs Sidhu Investigates, The Kumars at No. 42) as Rita. They lead a stellar ensemble that includes Sharon Rooney (Barbie, Daddy Issues, Jerk), Douglas Henshall (Shetland, Who Is Erin Carter?), Chaneil Kular (Sex Education, Protection) and Amit Shah (Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Happy Valley).
The trailer also features appearances from Niamh Walsh (Smother, Jamestown), Wil Coban (The Boys in the Boat, Origin), Christina Bennington (Halo, The Game), Eoin Duffy (The Dry, The Apprentice) and Aoife Kennan (Vera, The Dumping Ground).
Behind the scenes, the series is adapted for television by Gabbie Asher, with scripts from Matt Jones and Adam Usden. Tim Kirkby takes the lead director role, with Daniel O’Hara also directing episodes. Margot Gavan Duffy produces, and Fremantle handles international sales.
‘The Revenge Club’ looks set to deliver twisty thrills, sharp humour and a parade of increasingly questionable life choices. Exactly the sort of energy you want as the nights draw in.
