Production has officially wrapped on the fifth and final season of Outer Banks, bringing the long-running Netflix adventure drama one step closer to its endgame. Filming concluded in Charleston, South Carolina, with the Pogues heading into their final chapter ahead of a 2026 premiere on Netflix.

The news was confirmed alongside a behind-the-scenes cast photo, marking the end of a seven-year journey for the treasure-hunting drama. Creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke have been open about how emotional this final run has been, previously saying, “We are over the moon to be setting out on one last trip with the Pogues. Being back on set with our cast for this final round is nothing short of bittersweet and surreal. We can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store this season — it’s going to be a wild ride…”

Season 5 sees the return of series regulars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, and Fiona Palomo, with Tony Crane and Cullen Moss also back after being promoted to series regulars for the final outing.

Across its four seasons so far, ‘Outer Banks’ has pulled in close to 200 million views globally and landed on Netflix’s Top 10 English TV list 25 times. The Season 4 finale, which marked the show’s first feature-length episode, was designed to tee up what the creators have described as an epic final season, with the hunt for the Blue Crown carrying the story through to the end.

The creators also reflected on the show’s origins in a letter to fans released in November 2024, revealing the entire series stemmed from a single image of teenagers on a beach at dusk during a power outage. “That photo sparked an idea for a story of four best friends who only want to have a good time all the time,” they wrote, which eventually grew into a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship. From that moment, P4L was born.

While details of the final episodes are being kept tightly under wraps, the creative team has hinted they have always known how the story would end. As Josh Pate previously put it, “We’ve always known from the beginning what the last scene would be.”
