Prime Video has announced that ‘Kevin‘ will arrive this April, and along with the date comes a first look at the show’s gloriously chaotic title sequence.
The adult animated comedy, created by Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus) and Joe Wengert, follows a housecat who decides he has had quite enough of humans. When his owners split up, Kevin does what any emotionally mature feline would do. He dumps them first and moves out.
All eight episodes land on Prime Video this April across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The newly released title sequence features an original song, “I’m Coming Home,” performed by series lead Jason Schwartzman (Isle of Dogs) and co-written by Schwartzman and composer Dan Romer.
In the series, Schwartzman voices Kevin, a housecat attempting to navigate life without people. Aubrey Plaza (Emily the Criminal) plays Dana, one half of the human couple he leaves behind. Once Kevin relocates to a pet rescue in Astoria, Queens, he meets a collection of fellow misfit animals who may or may not help him discover what he actually wants from life.
The supporting cast is stacked with comedy royalty. Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Act) voices Cupcake, John Waters (Hairspray) plays Armando, and Aparna Nancherla (Bob’s Burgers) voices Judy, Kevin’s new cat roommates. The rescue is run by Seth, played by Gil Ozeri (Big Mouth), alongside his dog Brandi, voiced by Amy Sedaris (BoJack Horseman).
The series is executive produced by Plaza and Wengert, with Wengert also serving as showrunner. Dan Murphy, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski, and Antonio Canobbio also executive produce. Animation comes from Titmouse, the studio behind The Legend of Vox Machina and Star Trek: Lower Decks, alongside Evil Hag Productions and Amazon MGM Studios.
Adult animation has been having a bit of a golden age lately, and ‘Kevin’ looks like it is leaning hard into that bittersweet, slightly unhinged space between emotional breakdown and existential furball. A cat experiencing a midlife crisis in Queens feels oddly on brand for 2026.
‘Kevin’ Season 1 premieres Monday, 20th April 2026 on Prime Video. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
