Well, this was unexpected. Disney+ UK has quietly dropped the new season of ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution‘ with no PR fanfare, no big announcement, and seemingly no warning. Not that we are complaining. The BAU is back, and this time they have managed to sneak onto the platform like a particularly efficient UnSub.
Depending on how you are counting, this is either Season 4 of ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ or Season 19 of ‘Criminal Minds’. The revival/sequel series began as a continuation of the long-running procedural, with the original CBS drama running for 15 seasons before ‘Evolution’ picked things back up in 2022. So, technically, both are correct. Helpful? Not really. But correct.
The new season sees the elite profilers pushed to their limits once again as the BAU investigates a string of chilling new cases. Meanwhile, Elias Voit embarks on a path to atone for his past, although this being ‘Criminal Minds’, redemption is unlikely to be quite that straightforward.
This season also introduces a dangerous new threat known as “The Fan”. Precise, calculating, and relentlessly dangerous, this new UnSub is drawn in by Voit’s newfound infamy, pushing the BAU to the brink while operating under the shadow of one of the team’s most troubling adversaries. The big question is how far The Fan will go to prove his superiority over the man he idolises.
Returning for the new season are Joe Mantegna, AJ Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, RJ Hatanaka, Zach Gilford, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster, bringing the BAU back together for another run of dark cases, psychological mind games, and the sort of workplace stress that would have HR hiding under a desk.
The US launch is also arriving on Paramount+, where the season premieres this week. Over in the States, Paramount+ has already confirmed the show will return for a milestone Season 20 in 2027, which would make it the fifth season under the ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ banner.
Guest stars for the new season include Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry), Justin Kirk (Angels in America), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Clark Gregg (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Paul F. Tompkins (Bojack Horseman), Cress Williams (Black Lightning), Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar), Lyndon Smith (Step Sisters), Richard Cabral (Mayans M.C.), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), Rob Yang (The Menu), Nicholas Gonzalez (The Good Doctor), Inny Clemons (Judging Amy), Nicole Pacent (Westworld), Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan), Joseph Cross (Big Little Lies) and Cara Jade Myers (Killers of the Flower Moon).
‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ continues to be produced by 20th Television and CBS Studios, with Erica Messer serving as showrunner and executive producer. Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw, and Mark Gordon also executive produce.
‘Criminal Minds: Evolution‘ Season 4, aka ‘Criminal Minds’ Season 19, is available now on Disney+ UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
