‘The Good Daughter’: Sky Releases Trailer For Karin Slaughter Thriller Starring Rose Byrne & Meghann Fahy

by Dave Elliott

Sky has released the official trailer for ‘The Good Daughter‘, a six-part thriller starring Rose Byrne (‘Platonic’) and Meghann Fahy (‘The White Lotus’), which arrives on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland this November.

Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling novel, the limited series follows two sisters whose lives were shattered by a night of violence, only for another attack to drag the past back into the present. Small-town life has apparently failed to get the memo about being peaceful.

Fahy plays Charlotte Quinn, while Byrne stars as her sister Samantha. The pair have spent the last 20 years trying to put their fractured lives back together, carrying the consequences of that original attack into adulthood. When fresh violence hits their hometown of Pikeville, Charlotte finds herself at the centre of the new case.

Now a lawyer like her father, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. As the investigation unfolds, painful memories and buried secrets begin to surface, pulling the sisters back towards events they have spent two decades trying to live beyond. Slaughter’s title might sound reassuring, but the premise suggests the Quinn family will be having a considerably worse November than anyone worrying about getting the Christmas shopping started.

Alongside its crime story, ‘The Good Daughter’ explores the relationship between a father and his daughters, and the complicated bond between sisters who share a traumatic history. Sky describes it as a thriller built around love, family and resilience, so the emotional fallout is very much part of the story. Solving the case is one problem; dealing with what it brings back is another.

The supporting cast includes Brendan Gleeson (‘Mr. Mercedes’), Olivia Williams (‘The Crown’) and Michael Dorman (‘For All Mankind’). Between those names and the two leads, there is plenty of reason to keep an eye on this one, even before you get to the author handling her own adaptation.

Slaughter serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer, and has written all six episodes. Her work has already provided the basis for ‘Pieces of Her’ and ‘Will Trent’, but here she is directly responsible for bringing the Quinn sisters’ story to television. For readers of the novel, that is a particularly interesting part of the production: the person who created these characters is also steering their screen incarnation.

Steph Green directs all six episodes and also executive produces. Her previous television credits include ‘Watchmen’ and ‘The Americans’, bringing experience of stories where personal relationships and dangerous secrets are closely tangled together.

The series is produced by Made Up Stories in partnership with FIFTH SEASON, which also handles international distribution. Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver executive produce for Made Up Stories, alongside Slaughter, Green and Rose Byrne. Made Up Stories’ credits include ‘The Undoing’, ‘Pieces of Her’ and ‘Wolf Like Me’.

If your autumn viewing plans could use a crime thriller with a hefty helping of family secrets, ‘The Good Daughter’ is one to put on the list. The trailer is above if you fancy a first look before the Quinn sisters arrive on our screens next month.

‘The Good Daughter‘ premieres Thursday, 12th November 2026 on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland.
