Well, this is a nice surprise! Disney+ UK has decided to give fans of the ‘9-1-1’ franchise an unexpected treat, quietly dropping both Season 10 of the original series and Season 2 of its Nashville spin-off onto the streaming service today!
Neither show had been given a confirmed UK premiere date, with both simply listed as arriving sometime this autumn. However, rather than making a big announcement, Disney+ has apparently decided to just get on with it and release them!
Both dramas returned to ABC in the US last week, meaning UK viewers are now only a week behind their American counterparts. That’s a rather welcome change from some of the longer waits we’ve had for previous seasons.
‘9-1-1’ Season 10: The 118 Are Back!
The original ‘9-1-1‘ returns for its milestone tenth season, bringing more ridiculously dangerous emergencies, personal drama and general chaos to the streets of Los Angeles.
The series stars Angela Bassett (Black Panther) as Athena Grant, Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer) as Maddie Han, Oliver Stark (Into the Badlands) as Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley, Aisha Hinds (Underground) as Henrietta ‘Hen’ Wilson, Kenneth Choi (The Wolf of Wall Street) as Howie ‘Chimney’ Han, and Ryan Guzman (Step Up Revolution) as Eddie Diaz.
Season 10 opens with an appropriately enormous disaster, as the 118 faces an earth-shattering emergency that threatens Los Angeles. And when we say earth-shattering, we mean it quite literally, as the opening storyline involves a volcanic eruption and lava flowing through the city. Because apparently regular house fires just aren’t exciting enough anymore.
Meanwhile, Athena is still finding her feet in her new role as a detective, while her daughter May begins a new chapter of her own. Buck also faces some significant changes in his personal life, and Chimney continues adjusting to his responsibilities as captain of the 118.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, the series continues to mix spectacular, frequently bonkers emergencies with the more personal stories of the firefighters, paramedics, police officers and dispatchers who deal with them.
‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Season 2: Murder Hornets And Biblical Plagues!
If Los Angeles having a volcanic eruption isn’t enough excitement for you, ‘9-1-1: Nashville‘ is also back for its second season, and things aren’t exactly quiet in Tennessee either!
The spin-off follows Captain Don Hart, played by Chris O’Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles), and the firefighters of Nashville’s Station 113, alongside the complicated family dynamics surrounding Don and his relatives.
Returning cast members include Jessica Capshaw (Grey’s Anatomy) as Blythe Hart, Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Father of the Bride) as Cammie Raleigh, and LeAnn Rimes (Northern Lights) as Dixie Bennings.
Season 2 also welcomes Ryan Phillippe (Cruel Intentions) as Detective Rogue Kelly, a former New York homicide detective who arrives in Nashville to investigate an increasingly bizarre series of crimes inspired by the biblical plagues.
The opening episode, titled ‘Going Rogue’, sees the 113 responding to a museum overrun by murder hornets, while Rogue begins investigating the sinister events unfolding across the city.
And, of course, there is plenty of family drama to deal with too, as the fallout from Blythe and Dixie’s confrontation continues to cause trouble for Don and those around him.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani, the spin-off combines the franchise’s trademark outlandish emergencies with a healthy dose of Southern family drama.
A Pleasant Surprise For UK Fans
The unexpected arrival is particularly welcome given that neither series had a firm UK premiere date announced beforehand. Both had been sitting on our air date listings with vague autumn windows, so it’s nice to finally have something concrete.
The opening episodes of both new seasons are now available to stream, with further episodes following their ongoing US broadcasts. Disney+ UK hasn’t yet confirmed the precise release schedule for subsequent episodes.
So, if you’ve been patiently waiting to catch up with the 118, or see what fresh disasters await the 113, your Thursday evening viewing has just sorted itself out rather nicely!
Both seasons premiered in the US on ABC on Thursday, 15th October 2026.
‘9-1-1‘ Season 10 premiered Thursday, 22nd October 2026 on Disney+ UK.
‘9-1-1: Nashville‘ Season 2 premiered Thursday, 22nd October 2026 on Disney+ UK.
