Sky Cinema Christmas Day Premiere – A Minecraft Movie is a fantasy adventure film based on the 2011 video game Minecraft. It was directed by Jared Hess and stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Sebastian Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge. In the film, four misfits from the fictional town of Chuglass, Idaho are pulled through a portal into a cubic world, and must embark on a quest back to the real world with the help of an “expert crafter” named Steve.

A box office success, becoming the third-highest-grossing film of 2025 and the second-highest-grossing video game film of all time. A sequel is scheduled for release on July 2027.
