Matt Ryan brings DC’s John Constantine to the small screen (hopefully eradicating any memory of the Keanu movie…) Constantine Season 1 on Amazon Prime. Sadly officially cancelled by NBC.

Constantine is the best series I’ve seen on Fox just as good as Lucifer disappointed it was cancelled didn’t give it a chance on one series

Den Of Geek said constantine may be renewed as nbc said so. This should be on 50/50

No, that’s the writer saying it isn’t cancelled and he has to pitch a 2nd season in May at renewals. It’s ratings were still bad. We’re not saying it’s cancelled like some site, we’re saying it’s on Life Support. He may make a great pitch about how they can do the same show for less money, but it’s chances are slim. Basically, every 1st season show that hasn’t been given it’s back 9 episodes has been cancelled in recent history, so the odds are severely stacked against it. I do like the show, and I hope it comes back, but it’s ratings put it in that position, not us.

How is this on life support. This is an awesome show which needs to carry on

Its on life support because the series airs after the better and more profit making GRIMM series in the USA …
IF you allready watch grimm which is also on Amazon prime boxsets or on “Watch” in the UK thats kinda the top show people can take of the Spooky from NBC…
This series has Very few people to focus on and no matter how good the actor there have been to many Filler episodes allready in the first season of this show… When its Following the Story arch its good but they added filler to an allready short first season the writers show their having problems when not on the main story arch of season 1… US audience has allready noticed that… If you can miss an episode and not have any KEY plot points its filler….

It’s also on life support as it didn’t get picked up for the ‘back 9’ episodes, leaving it at 13 eps for the first season. It’s practically unheard of for a freshman show to get picked up for a 2nd season after it doesn’t get the backorder…

Some people are saying it’s cancelled… However… this is NBC. And they are about as effective at running a network as chocolate is a suitable material to make a teapot, so i’m not ruling out them changing their mind and it being saved because they haven’t got anything to replace it with.

“Matt Ryan brings DC’s John Constantine to the small screen (hopefully eradicating any memory of the Keanu movie…)”

The irony that whenever I try to find it on sky the Keanu Reeves movie is the only Constantine to show up

Could you please tell me when Constantine will show in the UK and not just on Amazon Prime that some of us cannot have or view

It’s just Amazon Prime because they bought the rights. Another channel or platform may buy second run rights in future.

Amazon UK Finaly put the 1080p upscaled version up woot… 1080p for once..
Also there are 3 versions of the pilot

The pilot was re-filmed after cast members were removed from the series…

The third version is meant to have the new cast member added at the end…and other cast removed from ending…
Amazon version was version 2…

Edit = Version 3 has been uploaded to Amazon UK….

Well this really sucks – I certainly wont be paying Amazon for the privilege of watching it. So I will either have to get episodes via other means from the US or wait for the DVD which I guess wont be out until late Spring next year.

I cant believe that no network in the UK brought this series, its just not acceptable to expect people to buy these different subscriptions on top of everything else and then they complain about piracy and file sharing networks.

It’s the way it’s going. In America too. Piracy remains illegal though

Really not happy with this. Don’t like Amazon as a company & try to avoid buying anything from them; certainly not prepared to pay them 80 quid on top of our Sky sub and our TV licence for the privilege of watching this at home. I’ll wait until it comes out on DVD and, hopefully, I can buy it from someone apart from Amazon.

Me too, but you could always buy the Amazon subscription in place of the Sky subscription (which is optional of course) and possibly save some money

I went over to Freesat (reception here is terrible so you can’t rely on Freeview) and Amazon Prime. I’ve saved a fortune and Amazon’s TV selection is getting better and better by the day :)

Is Constantine being shown on any tv networks as I don’t have a good enough internet connection to watch on Amazon Prime.

If Amazon have bought the rights, then no, not for now. Dvd will be your best bet

The Amazon TV content is not 1080p. Its only 720p quality…
Only the First HD indicator shows… The 1080p mode won’t enable unless its a Film normaly…

Legally, no. You could however wait until all the episodes are available and then take the 30 day free trial. Or wait for the DVD. Both less than £80

Well spotted, I’ve updated the entry. It’s the way things are going- more programmes being bought by this type of provider

Yep, thanks for that. Amazon kept that quiet! :)
