Nashville UK & US TV Premiere Date

by Dave Elliott
Nashville *may* not be as dead as it first appeared to be...

Rayna James (Connie Britton) is the established “Queen of Country” music. However, her latest album is not selling well and her tour is playing to half empty venues. Her record label suggests that she open for Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), the young and sexy best selling singer of bubble gum country. However, Juliette, seeing Rayna as washed up, purposefully alienates her and Rayna, who dislikes Juliette’s style of music, rejects a joint tour out of hand. The two women come into conflict as both try to get guitarist Deacon Claybborne (Charles Esten), Rayna’s bandmate and former lover, to sign onto their tour. Rayna’s life is further complicated when her estranged father, millionaire businessman Lamar Wyatt (Powers Boothe), convinces her husband, Teddy Conrad (Eric Close), to run for Mayor of Nashville (from Wikipedia).

When does series 6 resume – just watched episode 8 and it says mid season break – I’ve never known this before?

Reply
Dave Elliott👑 Admin April 30, 2018 - 9:41 pm

It’s because it’s running close to the US this year. It’s back in America in June, so hopefully, it’ll be back in the UK around the same time.

That’s where they originally had it, but it’s now moved, and we’re not sure of the new date yet. We’ll let you know when we do.

Season 5 will be show this spring on sky living! The gang are also on UK tour this summer. Just booked my royal albert hall tickets http://celebmix.com/nashville-season-5-airing-uk-spring/

I emailed Sky back in December asking them if they planned on continuing to show Nashville considering the show was picked up by CMT, and they stated they had no plans to do so after season 4. There is literally no way I can find to show or stream it here as every avenue I’ve tried is on US lockdown. In this day and age, it frustrates me no end the red tape that surrounds licensing crap from country to country. ?

Does anyone have any insight into when/if ever it will be shown in the U.K?

Like so many others here, I’ve watched Nashville since the beginning and switching Series 4 from E4 to Sky Living has really annoyed me. Does anyone know where you can buy the series on DVD (playable on UK machines)?

It’s very rare for the disc to be released before the broadcast has finished so it won’t be before that. It’s also unlikely to be released here before the US and as far as I can see there isn’t a release date for the R1 disc yet. But most likely there will be – it’s just a question of patience.

Just messaged Sky Living via their Facebook page – to ask when Nashville will be shown. I quote “It’s currently scheduled for 25 August” :)

Reply
Katie👤 Guest June 18, 2016 - 9:31 pm

August 26th just announced at the concert

Reply
Eloise👤 Guest June 18, 2016 - 3:46 pm

Just saw Nashville in concert in London, and Sam Palladio said S4 is airing here in August

Reply
Lara👤 Guest June 15, 2016 - 3:18 pm

I see that Nashville season 5 will be no CMT, and on Hulu the next day. Am I correct in thinking neither of these can be viewed in the UK?

Reply
Dave Elliott👑 Admin June 15, 2016 - 4:19 pm

Yes, you are correct. The UK broadcaster is now Sky Living, and they have to air season 4 first. If that goes well, you may find they rush the airing of season 5, but there’s no confirmation on that yet.

Hopefully another channel in the US will pick it up. Such a shame. Great programe with some great music and characters.

They have moved nashville from E4 to sky living due to premier in June, it has not gone down too well in America where it has already been viewed. Today they have announced its cancelled season 5. Bad move all round hey.

Karen Markham👤 Guest May 6, 2016 - 10:04 pm

What an absolute load of rubbish channel 4!! Nashville moving to a sky channel that a lot of people can’t get! If you want us to watch your channel stick with something that works. Seriously cheesed off!

Reply
Alan Gauld👤 Guest June 28, 2016 - 11:52 pm

Isn’t this because Sky have paid the US distributors more than Channel 4 was offering? In a bidding war the highest bidder wins. I don’t see how Channel 4 are to blame – except they didn’t bid high enough… But we’ve all lost eBay auctions right?

Reply
Sami👤 Guest May 1, 2016 - 10:07 am

I AM NOT HAPPY!!! Why have you moved this to Sky Living!! I’ve been an avid NASHVILLE fan from Season 1 and I can’t get SKY LIVING!!! Can’t believe it………now I’ll not know if Deacon survives. Please, please, please air this on freeview TV.

I’m sick of this happening to great programme’s!!

???????

Reply
Marilyn Gable👤 Guest June 4, 2016 - 11:48 pm

I totally agree with you.
I have watched Nashville avidly since the first season. In my opinion there has never been a so-so episode. The story lines and the characters have been consistent throughout.
I do not have SKY, and I am upset and disappointed that I’m unable to see the final season.
I have e-mailed channel 4 a week ago, and as yet no response.
They show complete disdain towards their viewers.
It is not only channel 4 though. Other channels have stopped showing programmes that I’ve been enjoying, only to be shown on SKY.
I am pleased to have found this website, and to know that other people feel the same way as myself.
As someone has mentioned, maybe some freeview channel exec. may learn of our dismay, and perhaps it will be shown on another channel.
We can only hope.

It’s so unfair!!! Yet another series moving to a channel that isn’t available to everyone(Nashville S4), I’ve also heard that the next series of The Walking Dead is not being shown on Ch5 or Spike,so there goes another one. Come on E4/More4, stop letting your viewers down.

Reply
Heather👤 Guest April 11, 2016 - 1:28 am

I take it E4 are not going to reply to people’s queries as to why they have ditched Nashville? I dont have sky i have Freesat which has no Sky channels.
Channel 4 did the same with the Walking dead, they dont give a stuff about their viewers.Pull your finger out E4 and get Nashville back.

Have already seen majority of season 3 in Ireland and am not going to spoil your future viewing but I’m afraid Reyna still can’t carry a note, she’s not a great singer but there is a song or two on the show that will have viewers saying that’s a catchy tune . Enjoy
