The first couple of season one episodes had their premiere on iPlayer a week or so before screening on BBC3. All the way through Orphan Black seems to have been a digital stalking horse for the Beeb.

Do you guys know if the BBC will be showing the FTA rights? Presumably now BBC3 is online only they can’t just put it on there and it would have to go on BBC2 or 1 and given that BBC3 showed season 3 in the early hours of the morning over a week and a bit they presumably are not interested. So I think I have worked out the answer myself but it would be nice to have it confirmed, thanks.

It’s probably more a question of cost rather than not being interested.

Apparently Season 4 is now airing on Netflix one day after its US broadcast.

BBC Three HD is at 1920×1080 where as iPlayer HD is only 1280x720p. The quality from the live broadcast is higher. This is an award winning show. It has one of the best scripts and casts of any series and a strong fan following. There are few sci-fi shows produced, even indirectly here by the BBC. Tatiana Maslany is an amazingly talented actor and backed by a strong supporting cast with an intelligent script. To air it on the graveyard slot is just so wrong.

BBC have posted an FAQ stating they have the rights. But not when it’s due on air.

The next episode will be the first of series 2. I don’t believe the BBC has bought it yet, but if they do, most likely will be next year

Orphan Black not to be shown at this date as Womans Football get priority over everthing else
Sport in Britian will always make top priority
No new date givin to this long awaited “BBC made” program tjat has got amazing reveiws

Also E4 only show 12 episodes of Rule Of Engagement. The same 12 for the past 2years even tjo tjey say tjey are screening new ones i have not seen any

I know its not your fault geeks so keep up the work

For the same reason that BBC shows aren’t shown right away (or at all) on BBC America. Namely, that the BBC is a British broadcaster, and BBC America, to state the obvious, is an American broadcaster. The fact that they are owned by the same organisation is immaterial.

I get that, Andrew, but I share Steve’s pain! It’s getting difficult to avoid spoilers on twitter. We need to see series three as soon as possible. This is one of the best series around in my view, and Tatiana Maslany in particular is an incredible talent. Watching her at work is like watching Messi play football or Federer play tennis.

Also, the first B in BBC America does stand for British, so that ought to give us some rights here! We just need to know when we can see series three…..

It doesn’t. It is just a name. And unfortunately, knowing when it is coming won’t make it come any faster. It will be with us quite soon though, fear not.

I agree with you on the quality of the programme and acting, but disagree on spoilers. As you can imagine , I spend a lot of time reading about US programmes and one of the most spoiled shows out there, Game of Thrones, I watch nearly a year later each time because I wait for the Blu-Ray. I manage not to read spoilers for that.

Yes it does require considerable restraint, but if that is lacking, I do believe there are some third party apps that can help you control spoilers on social media.
