The 1960s were difficult times for the former colony of Malaysia, newly independent. Racial tensions between Chinese, Indians and Muslims were flaring up, and the predominately Chinese territory of Singapore was about to break away. In this joint Singapore / Australian production, a plot involving an Aussie expat and the death of his neighbour’s husband is written on top of this tumultuous bit of history. With HBO pockets involved, it looks to be a cut above earlier Singapore TV successes…. Under One Roof, anyone?
