Set during a sweltering heatwave as protests erupt on the streets, the psychological thriller follows forensic psychologist Dr Gabriele “Gabs” Fox as she begins a new job at a high-security psychiatric hospital.
There, she meets 17-year-old Bethany Krall, who was convicted of murdering her mother but insists she is innocent. Bethany is also estranged from her father Leonard, the charismatic leader of an influential religious movement.
When Bethany claims to have psychic powers and the ability to predict the future, Gabs is forced to question what she believes. And if Bethany really did not kill her mother, someone else did.
