Gustaf Skarsgård (Vikings, Oppenheimer) takes on the iconic role of Kurt Wallander in a contemporary Swedish-language adaptation of Henning Mankell’s bestselling crime novels.
At 42, Wallander’s personal life is falling apart. Recently separated after 20 years of marriage and estranged from his daughter, the troubled detective drinks too much, sleeps too little, and struggles with the weight of his unsolved cases.
As he tackles increasingly demanding criminal investigations, Wallander must also confront his own personal demons, balancing his extraordinary instincts as a detective with his increasingly chaotic life outside the police force.
The new adaptation comprises three feature-length films and marks another chapter for the much-loved detective.
