Legendary mystery novelist Allison “Allie” Chandler sees her fading career receive an unexpected boost when a fellow author dies during a writers’ convention in her hometown. Convinced the death was murder, she reluctantly teams up with cynical Gen Z true-crime podcaster Andrea “Andi” Wallace.
Despite their wildly different personalities and frequent arguments, Allie and Andi form an unlikely investigative partnership, solving dangerous standalone mysteries while attempting to co-write a book together. Their first case also introduces larger questions surrounding Andi’s missing mother and a mysterious figure watching the pair from the shadows.
