As we jump into Nikita‘s 2nd season, the playing field has shifted somewhat from season 1. Nikita (Maggie Q) is still trying to throw as spanner into the workings of Division – the agency that created her. But with her inside mole Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) now working against her, the job just got a lot harder…
Thankfully, her Division trainer Michael (Shane West) has now flipped sides, and is on the run with Nikita and Division’s ‘Black Box’ – a hard drive containing the government’s darkest secrets and conspiracies. But leading the hunt for them this time is Alex… and she knows all of Nikita’s tricks.
Nikita Season 2 ramps up the tension from season 1. Like a lot of shows, having spent most of the 1st season on stand-alone stories, this season runs with a more solid over-arching storyline. Maggie Q continues to pitch her role at just the right level, managing to display Nikita’s constant wrestle between what she wants in life and her ‘job’ without coming off as annoying.
There are some great standout episodes in this run, with the mid-season ‘Sanctuary’ and ‘Clean Sweep’ pulling out all the stops, with ‘Oversight’ showing just how far they’re willing to go to save their own skin…
