Trevor Noah Will take over from Jon Stewart on The Daily Show

by Dave Elliott

There were some rumours last week, but Comedy Central have today confirmed that Trevor Noah will take over The Daily Show mantle when Jon Stewart leaves… whenever that is…

So, who’s Trevor Noah? Well, he’s a young South African comedian who’s made a few of appearances on the show already recently, but in the UK you may have also seen him on Q.I., 8 Out of 10 Cats, and on Live at the Apollo:

Michele Ganeless, the Comedy Central president, told the Times, “We talked to women. We talked to men. We found in Trevor the best person for the job. You don’t hope to find the next Jon Stewart – there is no next Jon Stewart. So, our goal was to find someone who brings something really exciting and new and different.”
