Comedy Central Extra UK DROPS The Daily Show…
Yes… Comedy Central Extra, the channel that was airing The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in the UK has decided to drop it because… and I quote… “Comedy Central Extra is currently moving away from talk shows and focusing on other genres of comedy.”
Really?… well lets just have a look and see what ‘other genres of comedy’ shows are filling The Daily Show’s slot in the coming weeks shall we… Okay… That Lee Evans Special you’ve already run to death… Friends… Friends… Friends… Friends… A repeat of the 2011 sitcom Workaholics… and Epic Meal Empire (apparently “The guys attempt to pump up a bunch of body-builders with some epic edible gym equipment…” stay classy CCE…) Have to say, it appears the ‘genre’ of comedy you’re focusing on is endless repeats…
I wouldn’t mind, but it’s a show which is OWNED by Comedy Central! Are you trying to tell me that, in all the hours you have to fill, you can’t find the time to bump a few Friends repeat in the middle of the night to run The Daily Show a few times a week?
Seriously? And this only a few months before Jon leaves and Trevor Noah takes over…
