Ripper Street To End After Season 5 on Amazon
There has been a number of ups and downs for the Victorian police drama, but after 5 seasons Amazon is bringing the show to a close. I’m trying to avoid the word ‘cancelled’ as this doesn’t come as a huge shock, given Amazon renewed the show for seasons 4 & 5 together, which strongly indicated the 5th may be the last. They have now definitively confirmed in a press release that season 5, which has begun filming in Dublin, will bring Ripper Street to a close.
Amazon initially saved the drama, which starts Matthew Macfadyen and Jerome Flynn as police officers in Victorian England, when the BBC dropped it after 2 seasons.
