Sky Atlantic have announced the highly anticipated tv adaptation of Westworld will be airing on Tuesday 4th October 2016 at 9pm.

Created by Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy Nolan (Burn Notice, Pushing Daisies), the show is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie, and takes place in a futuristic Wild West theme park, populated by androids designed to entertain visitors in every possible way… Described as “dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin”, it aims to explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.

Westworld stars Sir. Anthony Hopkins as the park’s creator Dr. Robert Ford; Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy, an android who discovers her entire life is an elaborately constructed lie; Ed Harris as the Gunslinger, the role played by Yul Brynner in the original movie; James Marsden as Westworld newcomer Teddy Flood, who’s pursuit of a local beauty launches him on a dark odyssey; and Thandie Newton, who plays the beautiful and sharp madam, Maeve Millay.

Westworld airs on 2nd October on HBO in the US, and we did think Sky might take the Game Of Thrones route and simulcast the show. Unfortunately that’s not the case, but 2 days behind isn’t too long to wait.
